It used to be that we looked to Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror to push our boundaries
These days you read the headlines and it seems the plots of Pop Crime Shows have vomited all over the news, or that technology is doing things faster, better, and superior to the imagination of today.
Are we a product of a self-guided reality based on the social envelopes of the past?
Have we as the Human Race degraded so far our creativity is stifled?
One of the greatest scientific discoveries in modern times was made last year with the Higgs Boson.
Where is the next big dream? We really didn’t celebrate the discovery, not much fanfare like major leaps forward in the past.
It worries me. The last time in mankind’s history that such misdirection happened was as the Pneumonic Plague hit. It tossed Western Culture and the World back hundreds of years in technology and understanding.
I just can’t shake this feeling today, like I am living in history that will be taught a few hundred years from now in which some know-it-all professor or guru will stand in front of young minds and point.
“See right there. That is where they should have acted. If only they could have seen what was happening, none of this would have happened.”
Things happen for reasons. I don’t claim to understand them. History operates in cycles; one could argue it is self-fulfilling, one could claim some energetic balance correction, or your deity of choice setting ill minded children back on course.
Either way… I still have this nagging feeling… and this haunting question
“Why are we still so blind?”
