You know olé Gorge had some great songs.
The human condition, it’s terminal; I once heard it put. So it makes you think, even if you don’t dare, about existance. Even the total bad asses have that last second at which even they are force to ponder life, their life, our collective existance.
People use to belive, some still do, that photography steals your soul or a part of it. It comes from that more primitive belief that blood carries with it the soul and the life force binding the human body into existence. For once your blood spills out, you no longer exist. I wonder if that might be even connected back to the simple game of peek a boo we play with children around the would. For that 8 seconds your eyes are covered, nothing exists.
I digress, I’m chasing rabbits. So one more time…
I see it like the quest of self improvement because reality hurts to bad to allow it to stay the same. In the song it’s about not wanting to get into another relationship unless it’s going to be mutually deep and not a game. I think it can be applied across the spectrum though because it deals with the human condition. For instance you can apply the same lessons and vibe to any addict staring at their weakness. Begging for this not to be like the last time and this time stay sober, or worse if they do give in let it literally be their last and go out on a high.
You could apply it to eating. Or any sorta gotta do this to get healthy routine.
I’ll admit I have done my homework, so I don’t know if George wrote the song, but the writer had a spirit in touch with the reality of being human.
We are flawed.
We do things for temporary gain thinking it will be permanent. When really it’s the costs that tend to be permanent.
So to my point. Try and live life with this process. Is whatever I am about to choose something my heart and soul would sing about one more time. If so, choose wisely. Ponder on the costs and the benifets. Is it something you can look in the mirror in the morning and fell no wait on your soul when you converse about it with your reflection?
Hell, even after that you might want to just sleep on it before acting.
I think that is where we mess up so much. We have become programed to be spontaneous and act on instinct. Just remember it’s instinct that draws bugs into those pretty blue bug zappers.
Man… I must be old advocating wisdom over instinct. Lol…
Peace be with you,
Ps: yes even I am flawed… I have my one more time moments. I choose to follow my heart always, be it right or wrong by “definition” so save the “get off your soap box you imperfect…” mail ktxbye
