As Mother’s Day approaches, take time and give thanks for those who have taken up the mantle to be mothers to all. Some may be biological mothers, others may be mothers in the maters of heart or soul. Some may just intercede for mothers who no longer exist on this plain of existence.
I send my mother love, thoughts and prayers as this year, being jobless, I have not the fundage to send her something tangible.
A memory of my mother:
My mother is a stubborn red head. She has only the equivalent education of a 5th grader as that was how things were when she was growing up. Everything and every opportunity was saved for the eldest in her family. She made a living before having to moved into assisted living by watching other’s children and raising them while their parents were at work or school. She also worked in the fields as a beekeeper. She overcame her limitations and she overcame a husband that was abusive; all to support and raise many children of her own. She raised a Marine. She raised a computer scientist. She raised a Master Machinist. She raised an Educator. She even survived raising me. Sure like every human being that walks this Earth she has her flaws. We all do. She, though, is mother. Without her perseverance, love, and own dose of familiar crazy I would not be here and I would not be who I am. For this, I am thankful. She taught me how to be strong and see the light even when all was dark. I pray her Mother’s day is one full of love and peace.
I pray love and peace to each of you and your mother’s
